Copy of The tour of the Duke of Somerset and the Reverend J.H. Michell in the year 1795, through Wales Scotland and the English Midland counties [manuscript], [ca. 1845].

An account of a tour of a young duke and an older Cambridge don, with observations on cathedrals, churches, towns, and genteel persons, but with particular interest in manufacture, mining, trade, and the other activities of "the middle classes of life," and introduction to which the reverend guide and mentor hoped would "conduce at the same time to inform" his Grace's "mind, and raise his esteem of this valuable part of the community." That Michell was the writer of the account is shown by his referring to himself as a native of Brighton and King's College as his own college (Venn, Alumni Cantabridgienses).
